Fall 2016 New Student Welcome (NSW) information coming soon!
August 20, 2016—SAVE THE DATE!
New Student Welcome Program
New Student Welcome is offered at the beginning of each semester to acquaint new students with curricular and co-curricular opportunities and to assist them in setting directions and strategies for achieving educational and personal goals. The mandatory Welcome Day for fall 2016 will be held on Saturday, August 20 (students living on campus will move in on Friday, August 19). Activities offered on August 20 are critical for student success. New students will have an opportunity to meet and interact with returning students as well as faculty and staff. These days constitute the official opening of the academic year with the Convocation ceremony and also include programming of both an academic (college and adviser meeting) and social (picnic/activities/give-a-ways, etc.) nature. STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS. The goal of this program is to introduce new students to life at Penn State Mont Alto and provide them with the tools they will need to be successful. Becoming acclimated to the campus and meeting other students will ensure a positive start to educational and personal pursuits, while also providing students with important information about the University and campus. For questions about New Student Welcome, please contact Donna Rhodes, coordinator of student activities and program development, at 717-749-6057 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org Welcome Week activities will be held Sunday, August 21 through Sunday, August 28. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in these activities as well.
