Resident Assistants
Our Resident Assistants (RAs) are undergraduate students who reside in our residence halls and have the most frequent and direct communication with residential students. RAs serve as role models and leaders for the entire campus, though their primary focus remains in the residence halls. A Resident Assistant can have great influence on the social and academic development of their residents as they are most often the first contact that a student has in the residence halls.
In addition to serving as a resource for all students, RAs also assist new students with their transition through individual interactions, orientation programs, hall socials and educational initiatives. As peer helpers, RAs provide support for individual students with personal concerns, offer roommate mediation assistance, and share referral information with students, with their main responsibility being community development amongst their residents and within their building.
