Mont Alto Men Reach PSUAC Championship Game

MONT ALTO >> Penn State Mont Alto made a slew of free throw chances count in a PSUAC men's basketball semifinal against Penn State Beaver on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions got to the line 51 times, and sank 40 of their attempts in a 90-84 victory.

Mont Alto (22-4) will play in the PSUAC Championship on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center against PSU York, which defeated PSU Fayette, 87-78.

Five Lions finished in double figures. Jerome Evans led the way with 20 points, and Bobby Ingram, Sharif Welton and Devonte Merritt, of Chambersburg, all contributed 14.

Jamaal Carter tacked on 12 points, and both he and Corey Meyers, of Greencastle-Antrim, were perfect from the line.

Beaver was paced by Nick Miller, who scored 26 points.
