Men's Basketball Strives for the Pinnacle

MONT ALTO — In some ways, the 2013-14 men’s basketball season has been a trip down memory lane.

It remains to be seen whether the outcome is the same.

The question was posed to Penn State Mont Alto head coach Jack Schenzel, now in his third season at the helm, when the last time the team has won 21 games.

The answer to that trivia question was the 2001-02 season. Marty Ogle, who coached the Mont Alto men’s team for 10 seasons, led Mont Alto to a 26-0 record and a  Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference championship. It was also the last time Mont Alto won a conference title. Ogle is currently the Penn State Mont Alto athletic director and helped usher in a new era of athletics at the school in the form of the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference, which is affiliated with the United States Collegiate Athletic Association based in Newport News, Va.
