MedCamp offers local high school students real-world experience
Penn State Mont Alto hosted its sixth Annual MedCamp from June 20-24 for area students entering ninth and tenth grade who were interested in learning more about healthcare careers. This popular program is supported by Penn State Mont Alto in conjunction with Summit Health, Quincy Village and Penn State’s Hershey Medical Center. Students were provided the opportunity to visit local hospitals and healthcare facilities. They learned about healthcare careers including physical medicine and surgery, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, radiology, pathology, and more. Highlights of the camp included a trip to Penn State Hershey Medical Center and a CSI (crime scene investigator) presentation and activity. Students also became certified in first aid and/or CPR.
