Enhanced Athletics Program Boosts Enrollment
Penn State Mont Alto is experiencing an enrollment boost partly in response to its enhanced Athletics program. Its intercollegiate athletics teams compete in the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) and for the first time, they are competing for national championships in the United State Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) this year.
“Joining the USCAA and being able to compete for national titles has had an immediate impact on helping us to become more competitive and to recruit better athletes,” says Athletics Director Marty Ogle. Mont Alto is further enhancing its athletics program by returning intercollegiate baseball to campus. A new baseball field is under construction and will be ready for the launch of the Spring 2010 season. "The growth of our intercollegiate athletics program has undoubtedly factored into our enrollment statistics and our projection for our biggest-ever incoming class for the fall,” says Enrollment Director Michael Harp.
Penn State Mont Alto provides intercollegiate athletics programs for Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Softball, Team Tennis, Women’s Volleyball, and the addition of Baseball for next year.
