Mont Alto's Long Running MedCamp Offers Students the Opportunity to Learn about Healthcare Careers
MedCamp is open to students interested in learning more about healthcare careers and who meet the application requirements. The program gives incoming ninth- and tenth-grade students the opportunity to visit local hospitals and healthcare facilities. In addition, students learn about healthcare careers, including physical medicine, surgery, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, radiology, pathology, and lots more!
MedCamp 2015 will run Monday through Friday, June 22–26. The “home base” for the camp is Penn State Mont Alto and transportation is provided to hospitals and field trip locations throughout the week.
One of the highlights of the camp will include a trip to Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Students will also participate in a first-aid workshop with an American Red Cross approved instructor. This program is an outstanding opportunity for students with an interest in science and careers in healthcare.
