Division of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) Advising Center

Objective: Enhance the practice of academic advising
Strategies:

•  Coordinate or support the academic advising and information center for the college or campus
•  Develop and deliver advising workshops for faculty and professional advisers
      - provide professional development for academic advisers
•  Manage the ‘First Year Testing, Counseling & Advising Program’ (FTCAP)
      - Train first year FTCAP advisers
•  Administer the Center for Excellence in Academic Advising, an electronic resource for academic advisors
•  Assess academic advising

Objective: Communicate academic advising information
Strategies:

•  Develop and participate in academic information programs for students
•  Serve as academic resource and referral contacts for academic advisers and students
•  Direct and/or participate in college/campus admissions activities
•  Maintain Web sites for the college or the advising center
•  Publish curricular changes through advising updates
•  Serve on college and University committees.
