Academic Support Center Director and Disability Contact Liaison

Full Time

Kendra Wolgast

At Penn State Mont Alto, Wolgast assists students with the academic transitional issues they face in the collegiate environment, particularly students with transitional issues such as first generation, low-income, at-risk, developmental, and disabilities. One of the ways she does this is through the Jump Start Program. In her research, Wolgast looks for new methodologies that help engage students in their classroom experiences and provides them with the opportunity to persist and complete college. In addition, Wolgast teaches at Penn State Mont Alto including CI 200 Peer Tutoring, CI 297 Group Tutoring, PSU 008S First Year Seminar, CN ED 297 Peer Mentoring, and CAS 126 Developmental Listening. In the classroom, Wolgast gives students an interactive experience that challenges their cognitive learning process and requires a higher level of thinking. She also provides student leadership opportunities through peer tutoring and mentoring. With these leadership opportunities, students can assist their peers with their first year transition to college and beyond.
