Campus Coordinator/Nursing Faculty
Barkdoll teaches medical surgical nursing concepts at Penn State Mont Alto, and she has also taught leadership and behavioral health nursing, health assessment for the RN to BS program, trauma and critical care, and women's health. She is the campus coordinator for both the Associates Degree and RN to BS Degree in Nursing. Her clinical background is in Emergency Medicine and Pre-hospital services. She works in private practice as a Nurse Practitioner with a local Internal Medicine physician group.
Barkdoll's master's research was on heroin use/addiction in rural Pennsylvania adolescents. The results of her research showed significant use of and addiction to heroin in the community, easy access to the drug, and lack of education in providing the proper tools for the screening of drug addiction by health providers.
